Nancy Preslar
Of Counsel
Nancy R. Preslar graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1979. Following graduation Nancy engaged in a general civil practice which included representing injured workers, accident victims and a limited domestic relations practice. She worked for several years as a staff attorney for the local legal aid society with her primary area of practice being Elder Law. She also worked as a law clerk for a judge on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
In 1989 Nancy and her family moved to Chattanooga. For the past twenty years Nancy has helped hundreds of people work their way through the Social Security Disability system. Her work is more than a job to her. She believes it is a privilege to have the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people and to be able to use her experience and knowledge to help them receive the insurance benefits they deserve.
Nancy is a member of the Chattanooga Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claims representatives. She has spoken on and taught about disability benefits before many community organizations as well before professional associations. In addition to her work she is active in her church and spends time every summer helping lead mission trips everywhere from New Orleans to Jamaica. She is a board member of a local Christian AIDS ministry and has volunteered with several other non-profit organizations over the years.
If you asked Nancy the best way to describe her life and attitude about the journey so far, she would respond that she is blessed and that she believes she has been “Blessed to be a blessing.” Her goal is to try to remember to practice this idea in her work as well as her personal life.
